AN ORIGINAL VIEW

And

Mr. J. S. Ollift takes an original view-point when he suggests that there is no such thing as luck in lawn tennis and that a net-cord' stroke in faulty stroke. To-day, he says, "luck" is used to excuse so much inaccuracy that the really nicely judged stroke is also said to be lucky. Where will this end? Everything must either be lucky or unlucky in this case. Surely judging distances and time and allowing various mar gins for error are part of the game. It is not luck, but skill, to take the right amount of risk.
