For the Australian Eleven to ineet the tourists on November 20- 24. provision has been made that na, less than six places must be re- served for youngsters who have had no Test matchi experience. This will entall a nation-wide search for suitable players, but the value of such n-scheme can be seen with half on eye. It means, for one thing, the

in Australia, as in very England and elsewhere, the vasiness of the country being res- posanble for this. The disadvantage is that very often highly promising cricketing material is allowed to run to seed because none of the "big wigs" can ever get within two days' Journey of these outlying spots. But now Australia is setting out for
and the value of general round-up, and such a move will be better appreci- ated in the days to come. In the meantime, it might be added, this emphasis on the need of taking the English team very seriously is a dis- tinet compliment to the tourists and shows that Australia, at least, is not under-rating them.

A team was tentatively entered at the executive committee meeting last Tuesday, but since then the club has discovered it is impossible to get to- gether three pairs.

P. XAVIER IS SUSPENDED
As a result of his behaviour on the field of play against Central British Association last week, P. Xavier of the Argonauts Hockey Club has been suspended by the Mamak League Committee from participating in the League for the rest of the season.
It was stated that. Argonautas had written deploring the incidents and had also suspended the player from further participation.
A. S. Xavier, another player to be turned off the field in this match, was severely censured. The umpire reported that, A. S. Xavier had lost hls temper, but had not been guilty of dirty play,
Intimation was given at the meet-. ing that a team from the submarines Otis und Odin had been entered in the League, and would play in the "B" Section.
