Mr. Booth was an officer in the Royal Navy during the Great War. and had the distinction of having seen action in nearly all the chief naval bailles. He lost an eye in one engagement.

Retiring from the Navy, he joined the Ifengkong Police Force in Decen- ber 1919 as a Probationer, arriving in the Colony in February 1920. He was

appointed Assistant Super- intendent at Poilee in February 1922. and in April of the sume yene was appointed Acting Assistant Harbour back to his previous Master, reverting position in February 1923. For an- other short spell from February to February 11, 1920, he

was acting Assistant Harbour Muster, and since then had been entirely in Pulice service. On December 10, 1931, he was appointed Superintendent Police.

He was born on February 2, 1808, and thus retires at the early age of 30.

Mr. Booth went on Home leave nt the beginning of June this year, and was invalides out of the Force about two months after his arrival in Eng-

land.
