WITH a history going back to more than 250 years, the First Battalion of the Seaforth Highlanders, a kilted unit, is due to join the Hongkong Garrison very shortly.

At present, the Battalion, although actually stationed in Cairo, is on active ser- vice in Palestine, where, in the course of the trouble- some .events of the few months, it has suffered a number of casualties.

These include Lieutenant.. R. M. Festing, who was killed in action on August 10 this year, and 2nd. Lieuten- ant R. H. Cassels, who died
