It is learned at the Insurgent Headquarters here that rebel troops are engaged in conflict with loyalists in the vicinity of Tole- do, indicating that relief is approaching the beleaguered garrison of the Alcazar,
The insurgents in the Alcazar, who have lived on pitifully scant rations for days, who have suffered almost continuous artillery and aircraft bombardment, faced fire and bayonet charges, and finally had much of their stronghold blown up about them by a mine, are known to be near the end of their endurance. Yesterday planes drop- ped food to them. They have resisted the attacks of the loyalists for nearly 70 days.
Yesterday it was reported that the relief column was within 14 miles of Toledo.
The rebel field headquarters at Talavera announces! the occupation of Santa Lalla last night, and a subse- quent easy advance of seven miles to the town of Ma- queda, which was also occupied.

The most important German, army manoeuvres since the beginning of the World War commenced near the remilitarised Rhineland Zone, West Germany, this morning.
Herr Adolf Hitler, the Chancellor, General von Blomberg, the War Minister, General Herman Goering, Minister for Air, General von Fritsch, Chief of the Army Staff, and Admiral Raeder, Chief of the Naval Staff, were present.
