BRITISH LABOUR

NO UNION WITH COMMUNISTS

London, Sept. 11. Communit overtuves to the Labour Party were fally rejected. Sir Walter Citrine.. addressing the Trade Union Congress, said that after many years of unbridled de- cision and abuse of the Labour Party, the incongruous spectacle of to Communist organisations trying Ingratiate themselves with organis- ed Labour presented the most amusing spectacle of contemporary political history.

"The simple explanation of pre- sent Communist tactics is obvious and adject failure of many attempts to capture the Labour movement. Notwithstanding years of subaldised propaganda, the Communist Parly in Eritain is a negligible quantity. and it has utterly failed to get any hold on the mind of the electorale.

"Don't let us be misled by the claim of the Communist Party that it represents the workers."

Sir Walter Citrine also declared. "The Liberal Party has censed to be considerable political force and the Labour movement is being ask- ed after all these years of fighting the Liberal Party to re-establish it.

The danger of Eascism in Bri- tain is remote as long as we keep our heads. The change in France was caused by the Popular Front arranging electoral methods so that they did not fight each other inside the elcelorni nystem, but it is im- possible to produce the same condi-

lons here."-Reuter.
