DOG WHICH LOST MUZZLE

LOCAL DOCTOR SUMMONED

Dr. Strahan appeared before Mr. S. P. Balfour at the Central Magis- iracy this morning, and plended not guilty to a charge of having allowed his dog to go abroad on the Upper Levels without a muzzle.

Dr. Strahan said he allowed the dog to go out every morning, and it was always property muzzled. ແກ່ August 18, the dog went out US usual, but returned, with a constable who td that it had been without a muzzle in his opinion the muzzic must have been stolen, because the dog had never returned home with-

Ite added that the dog never resented having a muzzle on, When he found that the dog's muzzle-was-missing-he made report to the Gough Hill Police Station to the effect that it had been stolen. There was no pos- gibility that the muzzle had dropped, as it was of a brand recommended by the Hongkong Jockey Club.

Giving the benefit of the doubt to the defendant. Mr. Balfour dis- charged him with a caution.
