Bayonne, NJ, Aug. 20. AN extraordinary confession,

said to have been minds by a girl of seventeen charged with murdering ber mother while her boy friend held the mother's arms, was put in by the police at the Bayonne Court.

The girl, Gladys MacKnight, and her eighteen-year-old boy friend, Donald Wightman, wero arraigned on a charge of first degree murder of the girl's mother, Mrs. Helen MacKnight. Wightman curns his living by broadcasting hymna from ama endio station.

According to the police, the mother found the couple embracing, but Gladys, a slender attractive blonde, in her alleged confession, said the quarrel began over who was to get the dinner.

"Mother picked up a brend knife as Donald walked into the room," Gladys told the police. "She had raised her hand, but Downld grabbed her arm.
