MCMAHON'S MYSTERY ALHAMBRA
VISITOR
Wife's Distress
THE wife of McMahon-the man arrested after the revolver incident while the King was riding along Constitution Hill-was greatly distressed after the out- rage and refused to speak to anybody.
She locked herself in the furnish-
ed basement room which she and
her husband occupy in Westbourne- terrace, Paddington, W.
It appears that a visitor called to see McMahon at 10.30 on the previous day, but, contrary to his usual pro- cedure, he was not then home,
The visitor left a message that he would call again at nine o'clock in the morning, but McMahon left the house at about a quarter to eight- an hour earlier than usual-saying that he knew who the visitor was and that his caller could find him at his office.
"I have business to do this morn- ing," he commented.
McMahon and his wife, who has employment in the vicinity, led a very reserved life. Even people who saw them daily are unable to give many details of his career.
