AFTER one of the most thrilling matches ever seen here, Miss Jessie Anderson, the Scottish international golfer and win- ner of the New Zealand title, defeated Miss Pamela Barton, the young British champion, at the 37th hole in the final of the French Open Golf Championship to- day.

The players were all square at the 9th, 18th and 27th holes, and there was never more than a hole between them until the 32nd, where Migs Anderson became two 'up.

With the next two halved, she was dormy two, bat Miss Barton, winner of the title in 1934, profiting by her opponent's mistakes, squared at the 36th. Weather conditions were terrible for the first 12 holes, rain teeming down.
