Spanish Government aeroplanes are bombing insurgents in the neighbourhood of Saragossa, which loyal columns are reported to be nearing.
While H.M.S. Devonshire, 10,000-ton cruiser, is lying at Valencia to take aboard refugees from Madrid, it is reported that tension among the British nationals in the capital has eased and most of them are disinclined to leave the city. They claim Madrid, is still well supplied with food despite the insurgents' claim to be threatening the city's communications with the coast.

M. Leon Blum, the Prime Minister, and M. Yves! Delbos, Foreign Minister, to-day denied reports alleging the delivery of French arms and aeroplanes to Spain, but the Rightist press is apprehensive lest reports that Germany and Italy are furnishing arms to the insur- gents may cause the French Government to reconsider
