The pageantry of the Proclamation, read at St. James's Palace, Trafalgar Square, Temple Bar, and the Royal Exchange, is but a foretaste of that yet to come. One may safely predict that it will be witnessed by the greatest crowds that have ever assembled in London.

Among all the tremendous work of preparation, perhaps the most interesting, and the least known to the general public, is that which falls to the lot the ancient Court of Claims.

ان

The Court consists of 41 members, and its function is to decide who, "by ancient Customs and Usages of this divers Realm, as also in regard of Tenures of Hundry Manors, Lands, and other Hereditaments," are "bound to do and perform divers Services" at the Coronation.
