Fletcher was born on Sumter County, Ga., farm, Jan. G. 1859. When he was two years old the family moved to a farm near Forsyth, Ga., where ho grew to manitood.
Duncan was reared by an aunt and Left motherless as a small boy,
an elder sister. His sicco, Mrs. Fred G. Yerkes, of Jacksonville, is authority for a story that young Fletcher built colton gin, single-lianded, for his aunt's farm.
