A big effort is being made to send ful and representative team of British athletes and sportsmen to the Olympic Games in Berlin between August 1 and 16.

The British Olympia Association aim. at scuding 260 competitors, and for this purpose a sum of about $12,000 must be raised. hoped that the full amount re quired will be forthcoming.

BIG UPSET

Two Outsiders

Astonish

London, May 29. The Oaks, which was run at Epsom to-day, proved to be a real turn-up, as the first, Sir Abo Bailey's Lovely Rosa at 33) to 1 and the second,. Sir Fre derick Eley's Barrowby Gem at 22 to 1, were two of the most unconsidered runners of the field of seventeen.

Both were trained at Lambourn but by different trainers. They had only won ong race before in their careers nud neither finishe:i first in the Two Thousand Gulnons.

Yet the pair battled to an exciting finish, the former winning by three quarters of a length, with 1.M. the King's

Feola at 10 to 1, running with Lord Derby's colours, two lengths away for third position. Lord Astor's Traille Light was_fourth,

The winner, whose owner and his wife were present, ran almost un

bneked.

Lord Derby's Tideway starting at to 1 was the favourite, and with Esmond Harmsworth's Silver Birch at 100 to 30 ran very prominently but failed to stay the distance finishing eighth and fifth respectively-fruter.
