YESTERDAY
New York, May 27. Swan, Culbertson & Fritz Dow Jones summary of yesterday's mar- ket: The market to-day consolidated Tuesday's gains in moderate dealings, Prices opened steady and then cased on moderate profit-taking, turning dull on the decline. Later, the volume of trading accelerated the lift and prices rallied under the leader- ship issues. Motor and ell shares slipped. Numerous issues, however, held their gains to the close. Rull- road stocks were irregular and lost slightly. Uullifes
were chemicals were strong and metals Antrow: were firm. Rubber shares registered small gains and mercantile stocks displayed n better feeling. Aviation issues failed to respond to the rise of 10 points in Wright shares, In the Londs market, Corporation issues were upward, whilst Government bonds were mixed., Stoeits on the Curb Exchange were upward.
Swan, Culbertson & Fritz Wall Street Journal comment on 20/5:
Class one railroad companies may cover their fixed charges during the second quarter. Sentiment railroad and utility securities is better than for come time. The
bt lete activity the market suggests that there is a good deal of purchasing power which can come into the market when conditions appear to be propitious. Wall Street is optimistic on the chances of a market advance. It is reported that Coca Cola has stila- stantially increased its earnings in recent weeks. Technicians particularly pleased with the post-
of the market." S.C. & P. New York office cables: Stocks: The market
less buoyant because of renewed tax un certainties, but
but sentiment remains" better. The Consolidated Oil Cor poration proposes to issue debentures to the total of $50,000,000.

Colton: Conditions are unchanged and the market is without any special feature.
Wheat: Weather conditions in the North-West continue dry, but Winter crop estimates are higher: We think sale of advances is advisable.
Corn: We would take moderate profits on purchases as reactions are Ilkely.
Rubber: The trade was an in- different buyer. The public is on side-lines, awalling developments.
