A serious situation has developed at Gaza, Palestine, to-day. It has been found necessary to evacuate British families from their homes and to place them, for securi. ty, in the Central Police Barracks.
During the evacuation of the civilians one British soldier was wounded by an Arab bullet.
The mob erected barricades in the streets and stoned police officers, at the same time trying to destroy tele- graph and telephone lines and railway communications. Police fired one round during one critical moment and one Arab was killed,

This will be one of the largest fields in recent years, and one of the most difficult in which to spot the winner. Not only are there three-year-olds of a poorish vintage, and no really outstanding candidates, but several of the prominent runners are of the same ownership or trainership.
