A Cabinet re-shuffle is anticl- pated following the resignation of the Secretary of State for the Colonies, Mr. J. H. Thomas.

Another vacancy in the Cabinet is expected shortly through the retire- ment of Lord Monsell, First Lord of the Admiralty.

It was assumed that Sir Samuel Hoare, former Foreign Secretary, would then re-enter the Cabinet us First Lord of the Admiralty, but now it is suggested that Sir Samuel may become Secretary for the Dominions and that Mr. Malcolm MacDonald, Dominions' Secretary, may go to the Colonial Omce.
