After a trip across the American continent, the world's largest pleco of glass, to be ground into lons for the world's largest telescope, was delivered to the California Institute of Technology at Pasadena, California.. It will take three years to grind the two- million-dollar glass into an "eye" which will extend the range of the visible universe twice as far as any existing telescope.

Mr. W. T. Harrison, geography master, has constructed the above electric map shown above, on which the different towns are marked by sockets. The pupil replies on the questions by Otting a plug into one of the sockets and if the reply is right light shines behind a glass. slide marked with the temperature, rainfall and chief products of the region.
