Joined our service when the London Office was established in old Broad Street in 1874, and in 1900 was up- pointed the Society's Underwriter. He retired in 1919, but during the intervening years he established him- self as one of the leading and most successful underwriters in London. On retirement Mr. Saunders nc- cepted a scat on the Society's London Committee, and we were fortunate in having the benefit of his knowledge and advice, there up to the time of his denth, At his passing the Society lost a valuable associate and adviser.
