LARGEST GLASS: MIDWIVES' DAY

After a trip across the American continent, the world's largest piece of glass, to be ground into a lens for the world's largest telescope, was deliveral to the California Institute of Technology at Pasadena, California.. It will take thrée yours to grind the two- million-dollar glass into an "oyo" which will extend the range of the visible universe twice as far as any existing telescope.

Mr. W. T. Harrison, geography master, has constructed the above elcetric map shown above, on which the different towns are marked by sockets. The pupil replies on the questions by Afting a plug into one of the sockets and if the reply is right a light shines behind a glass slide marked with the temperature, infall and chief products of the

region.
