Imperial Airways Increase Capital

Preparations are being made for a new issue of capital

on behalf of Imperial Airways.

It is expected that the issue will be a large one-probably approaching £2,000,000.

The money is required for, the purchase of new flying boats for the overseas services, and also for landing equipment in the Azores and Bermuda in connection with the cross-Atlantic ser- vices.

The present capital of the company is £649,000 in Ordinary shares. The last balance-sheet showed cash amounting to £455,- |000, and Government securities £262,000.
