Suspicions that the Chinese Olympic football players had gone stale through excessive play was fully sub- stantiated this morning when they arrived back in Hongkong from Shanghai on the French boat the Aramis.
Lee Wai-tong, captain of the contingent, made no bones about things.
"Why did the players perform so disappointingly up North?" he was asked. His reply was:
