H.M.S. Cornwall sailed for Portsmouth this week, cheerød by small ships' crows and by bands of workers assembled on the west arm of the Naval Dockyard. The Cornwall's band played and the depart ing men responded lustily to the cheers, giving special attention to the revered old Tamar,

The Cornwall was flying 300 feet of paying-off pennant Indicating that she will have been in com-

mission two and a half years by the time aho completes her homeward Journey,

The first Conference of the 81st District of Rotary International opened in Shanghai last week with Rotarians from China and the Philippines in attendance. The first get-together was held at a Garden Party given in the grounds of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Hawkings at "The Limit," 600 Hungjao Road, where the above pictures were taken,

There was a largo attendance of Shanghai residents at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. T. Urabe to inspect the cherry blossoms which are now looking their best.
