Mr. Stanley Baldwin, the Prime Minister, told the House of Commons to-day that the Government hoped to get into touch with the German Government at an early date in order to obtain elucidation of certain

points in the German peace proposals, submitted to the Locarno Powers when Berlin. refused the carlier suggested terms for a settlement, after the re- occupation of the Rhineland by Nazi troops.

The coming questionnaire to Germany has been considered by the Cabinet already, but a further meeting will be necessary to give it final approval.

The British Government's communication is likely to be sent to Berlin either Friday or Saturday.
