Mr. Stanley Baldwin, the Prime Minister, told the House of Commons to-day that the Government hoped to get into touch with the German Government at an early date in order to obtain elucidation of certain
points in the German peace proposals, submitted to the Locarno Powers when Berlin. refused the carlier suggested terms for a settlement, after the re- occupation of the Rhineland by Nazi troops.
The coming questionnaire to Germany has been considered by the Cabinet already, but a further meeting will be necessary to give it final approval.
The British Government's communication is likely to be sent to Berlin either Friday or Saturday.
While it is now
apparent that;
Great Britain has no disagreement
with France and Belgium over the contents of the questionnaire, it is} understood that Mr. Anthony Eden, the Foreign Secretary, has insisted that the questions be put in his own way.
It is understood the questions will generally follow those forceast n April 24, but it is still uncertain whic ther the question of Germany's former colonies will be raised. It is believed that Britain will ask:
