ALL-BRITISH FORTIFIED

An all-British canal between the Mediterranean and Red Scar, 100 miles cast of the Suez Canal, is being discussed, according to a report in one of the popular Sunday newspapers in London..
Plans have already been sur- veyed, it is stated, by geologists and engineers, secking ostensibly oil and mineral deposits.
The proposal is revived, ac- cording to the report by the Committee of Imperial Defonce 49 a means of maintaining Britain's communications with India irrespective of political · considerations that might affect the internationally - controlled Suez route.
