Questions about the right to bring a breach of promise action were asked by Mr. Justice Hilbery of a war widow at Newcastle Assizes recently.

The widow, Mrs. Ethel Fisher, 45, unsuccessfully brought an action against Herbert Cowper, stated to be the eldest son of Mr. Cowper, of Stotes Hall, Jesmond, Newcastle.
