NAVAL PANORAMA SHOWS BRITAIN'S MIGHT CONCENTRATED IN THE MEDITERRANEAN:

Seldom has Britain's might on the seas been better illustrated than in this picture. Despite some enie in the tension between Italy and Britain, a huge British navy still patrols the Mediterranean. The above panorama shows ships of the royal navy gathered at Alexandria. These warships are continually on the move, and it is not often that so many are sech at one time. On the LEFT is 11.M.S. Renown, with H.M.S. Exoter and destroyers behind, and in CENTRE can be seen the aircraft carrier Glorious, while on RIGHT is

H.M.S. Vallant (in. FOREGROUND), and H.M.A.S. Australia.

While controversy rages over the constitutionality of the city's drive against indigents, the "foreign pairol" of the Los Angeles Police Department continues to turn back hobces and vagrants at state borders. This picture, taken near Yuma, Arizona, abows officers searching itinerants for wea-

You'd think that the torrential rains which poured down on Northern California without conse for two weeks would take care of the water question, but Billy Reynolds, on his family's ranch near French Camp, still finds it necessary to go to the well for water. Families were warned to distil or boll well water because of typhus danger.

Twenty-three passengers in a Seattle Spokane bus were imprisoned four hours by a heavy snowslide on Snoqualmie Pass, Washington, until rescue workers cleared a path to the covered car- rier. The same slide claimed the lives of three men, trapped in the cab of a truck.
