CHALLENGERS FALL AWAY

Should Visitors Play In Local League?

(By "Veritas")

THE whole complexion of the race for the first division championship has been changed within a week. A heary twodny programme, plus mid-week matches have left South China "A" and Athletic fairly high and dry at the top of the table. Nearest challengers are Police and South China "B", who with one game in hand of them both are six points behind the champions and are points in arrears of the Athletic.

Theoretically Club are in"a better postpion. They have three games in hand and are nine points behind South Ching "A" and eight behind Athletic, which means that if they win those outstanding.matches they can come within three points and two points respectively of the leaders."

The champions thus remain leaders of the first division, closely pursued by Athletic.

Phil Brubaker, the 21-year-old Dinuba, Cal, Ind who forsook his plans to study theology until he's had a whirl at the fight game, moved up another big notch at San Francisco when he plastered King Levinsky to win a decision after a thrilling fight. Photo shows the Kingfish knocked down by
