ANTHONY EDEN, GREAT BRITAIN'S FOREIGN SECRETARY, AT PRESENT REPRESENTING THE NATION AT THE VITAL SESSION OF THE COMMITTEE OF EIGHTEEN IN GENEVA, STATES MR. WARD PRICE, IN THE DAILY MAIL TO-DAY.

The message allegedly indicates that Emperor Haile Selassie is prepared to discuss peace terms on the basis of the present situation: namely, that Italy retain such portions of Ethiopia as she has occupied. The Emperor of Ethiopia adds the provision that the King of Eng- land should act as mediary between Italy and Ethiopia.

An eye-witness account of tremendous war preparations on the Soviet-Manchukuo frontier is given by the American journalist, Mr. Arthur Bate, who farrived here to-day after a long journey overland from Shang- hai.
