Her books were not selling well. She had not published a novel for two years.
Miss Stockley (Mrs. Pelham-Browne) had lived in her flat for a month and a-half., She cooked her own meals and did her own washing.
She rarely went out.
On Tuesday night she went up to her flat. carrying three large books. Early yesterday, says a London correspondent Mrs. Thomas, her charwoman, opened the door and found Miss and Stockley dead,
