The disastrous collapse of houses at Ynumati was recalled at the Kow- loon Blagistracy this morning, when Lam So, 32, unemployed, was brought before Mr. Macfadyen, charged with the theft of 24 pieces of clothing, a pair of vases and a wooden ornament, and with legal pawning.

Defendant admitted both charges and on the first he was sentenced to six weeks' hard labour and on the second les was fined $25, or, in default, and month's hard labour. He was further ordered to pay $16 amends to the complainant, Li Yiu-ying, 25, married woman, or two weeks hard labour in default.

Detective Sergeant J. Hoadridge stated that on the day of the collapso of the houses at Woosung Street, February 10, complainant, who lived at No. 18 Woosung Street, wanted to remove to No. 108 Temple Street, and went out to hire coolics, Defendant offered to assist in removing, the various articles and was handed the clothing to take away to Templo Street, but he was not seen again.

Part of the clothing was recovered in various pawnshops and an opium divan. The total value of the stolen articles was 830, and only $15 worth of the property was recovered. Defendant. pleaded guilty.
