IN TO-MORROW'S MATCH

S. CHINA TEAMS MAKE CHANGES

(By "Veritas")

Neither Lee Wai-tong nor Pau Ka-ping are playing in to- morrow's league clash between South China "A" and "B" at Caroline Hill. Several changes in both teams

have been

effected, notable among them being the return of Lan Mau to left back, and the trans- ference of George Tsang from centre-forward to right half in the "B" team.

Tho "A" outfit le trying a now loft winger, while the "B" are introducing

now player on the right wing. Despite these changes there should be some spirited and entertaining football to watch In this rehearsal for the Senior Shield semi-final which follows next week.

It is not likely the "A" team will loso their 100 per cent. record, but will most likely seize the opportunity to consolidate their position as leaders of the first division.

flere are the teams which expect to do duty.

9. China "A":-Wong Wing: Li Tin-sang and Lau Mau; Loung Wing-chul, Wong Mee-shan and Lee Kwok-wal; The Kwal-shing. Tay Qua-liang, Fung King-cheang, Ip l'ak-wa and Wong Ping-chung.

SOME "EYE-OPENING" GALLOPS

THE DIFFICULTIES OF STUDYING “FORM”.

ROYAL SCOT STILL THE BEST

DERBY CANDIDATE

(By "Captain Foster")

There was really a good attendance of inter- ested owners, rail's critics and racing enthusiasts at the Happy Valley over the week-end and also on Wednesday morning to watch the gallops, and there were some eye-openers, especially the performances of the Derby griffins, Honeymoon Eve, Thunder Bay and Silversmith. The Sub- Griffins such as Mountain View, The Gorilla, Unicorn and Wild Cat gave their usual display of form and the chief feature of the "Aussies" was the outstanding gallop of Centre Court. The Dunlin and Yo Ho went well over the Champion- Course. With the exception of Centre Court, all others were galloped on the Grass Course and same will not be open again until the race days.

It is not to be expected that there will be any

more long distance gallops, and from now onwards, we shall certainly see some fast sprints avor a mile or under just to tune the griffing up for the Annual Meeting be held to-morrow week. I am sure the trainers must feel a great relief that their jobs during the last five weary months or so in getting the panics lit are over, and the success of each individual now large- ly depends upon the element of luck, which is no small factor in racing.
