BOX.
This is the story told by a rollable eye-witness who has just come back from the northern front, where sevare fighting has been in progress for many days and where the Ethio- plana claim to have inflicted heavy casualties, uneficially estimated at 20,000 dead, upon the Italian army.
All the Ethiopian troops are cheer- and well supplied with Zood, but ammunition is scarce. None of the fighting men has more than 160
ful
rounds of ammunition.
It is the opinion of well-informed observers that the stream of rein- forcements proceeding to the Temblen area indicates that Ras Kassa and Ros Seyoum, whose forces are co- operating in that direction, contem plate a further offensive. They have recently been joined by a strong body of men under Ras
Imba An offensivo through the Tembion, if it meets with success, would carry Ethiopians to the Eritrean frontier. They could then strike at Italian territory.
