This is the story told by a relinblo eye-witness who has just come back from the northern front, where severe fighting has been in progress for many days and where the Ethio plans claim to have inflicted heavy casualties, unofficially extimated at 20,000 dend, upon the Italian army.
All the Ethiopian troops are cheer- ful and well supplied with food, but ammunition is nearce. None of the fighting men has more than 150 rounds of ammunition.
It in the opinion of well-informed observers that the stream of rein- forcements proceeding to the Temblen area indicates that Ras Kassa and Has Seyoum, whose forces are co- operating in that direction, conten- plato a further offensive. They have recently been joined by n strong body of men under Ras Imba.
An offensive through the Tembien, if it meets with success, would carry the Ethiopians to the Eritrean frontier. They could then strike at Italian territory.
The morale of the Ethiopian army is unshaken by the daily air_raide from the Italian siile. Reuter Special
