The currency inflation issue in the House of Representa- tives is likely to become one of the most momentous contro- versies in the session.
·
The threats of the Frazier-Lemke $3,000,000,000 in- Patman flationary Farm Mortgaging re-financing and the Bonus Bill's demand to pay the $2,000,000,000 Veterans' Bonus In greenbacks are the most powerful inflationary factors.
The leaders of the majority in the House have pointed out that the Frazier-Lemke Bill has 209 signatures and only nine more are needed on the petition to force a vote on the Bill. It Is said that there is but a slight chance of preventing a vote on this Bill.
I
The Passage of the Bonus Bill in the House was with the tacit understanding that Representative Patman could push the inflationary method of payment when the time comes,
If the Bonus Bill becomes law, the issue of how it is to be paid automatically arises. There are three methods of pay- ment: (1) A Bond issue; (2) New taxation; (3) Outright inflation.
Representative Wright Fatman, the sponsor of the Bill, in determined to demand inflation.
The House leadors taeit admission that the Supreme Court's decision on the A.AA. has strengthened the Frazier-Lemke forces has given added Incentive to the agrarian forces who sock to force an early vote on the Bill-United Press.

STILL FIGHTING
Washington, Jan. 12. District Supreme Court is being approached to restrain Presi- dent Roosevelt, Mr. Henry Morgen Davis from thau and Mr. Chestor terminating the A.A.A. until national referendum has been held on the constitutionality of the suit.
It is contended that the Supreme Court's decision is not the final word on any law and that the ultimate fate rests entirely with the electorates of the States.United Press.

SUBSTITUTE FOR AAA.
Washington, Jan. 12. Omeials of the Department Agriculture are drafting details of the Boll connervation programme embodying crop production control as n successor to the A.AA.
Supreme Court, following a lengthy conference, havo indiented that the decisions on the Rice Processing Tax, the Bankhead Cotton Control Act and the Tennessee Valley Administration may possibly be made on Monday,
Due to the mystifying decision on the A.A.A., legal circles express the belief
that the Court intends to clarify its attitude in the Bankhand and Rice processing decisions.
The Court's decision on the A.A.A. snid, firstly, that the General Welfare
permits clause of the Constitution
tax and spend for Congress to general welfare except when it in- vndes some right which is reserved to States. Secondly, the Court said that the General Welfare Clause did not apply to the A.A:A., which in vnded State powers. Thirdly, with- gut precedent, the Court expressed the opinion
that the Bankhead Act was unconstitutional, although they have not yet decided that ease.
FINANCIAL OUTLOOK
Washington, Jan. 11. Compotent observers here expect any further Supreme Court de cisions against the Administration Congress will most likely enact sub- stituto legislation to replace the A.A.A.
The Government deficit for 1977- will probably be 24 billion dollars, with the pudie debt at the end of 1937 probably standing at 34 billion dollars.
Government spending, with the resultant unbalanced budget, is likely of th continue. Conditions generally the budget situation. It is unlikely preceding inflation are aggravated by that agitation for currency inflation will again be active.
Friday'* conference between the Secretary of Agriculture and farm lenders-has apparently confirmed the beliet that the 'Administration's farmers throughout the nation will approve of the plan, which they be lieve can be drafted in such a man- ner as to avoid the Supreme Court's objections to the A.A.A.
It has been learned that the plan contemplates
the
retirement by the Government and the rest by 50,000,000 acres, some through rental paying the farmers who comply with the Government's suggestions for the beat use of the land.
Further devaluation of the currency President For nak although tho told that his land should produce has
proclamation extending 100.000 bushels of wheat and that he the Gold Reserve Act for extrung, would damage the soll if he produced which extenda
the life of the more than that.
Stabilisation Fund and also President's power to vary the gold content of the dollar.
Farmers income for 1936 is ex- pected to exceed that of 1935 by 10 per cent. regardless of the Supreme RULING AWAITED
Court's decision the A.A.A.-- Justices of the United States United Press.
If the farmer complied with the suggestion he would receive a Gov ernment subsidy for "valuable sor- vices
rendered in preserving the soll's fertility."
