SCIENTIFIC FILM

PIONEER

Londen, Jan. 0.

The death has occurred, at age the has of 62, of Dr. R. G. Canti, who dona notable poincer work in the making films for scientifle and medical research. By an apparatus of his own construction, based on that. used in microscopic photography and slow motion films, he obtained visible re- cords of the progress of living cells under conditions of disease.

One of Dr. Canti's films,, showing the reactions of cancerous growths to radlum rays, was shown to a distin- guished lay audience at 10, Downing Street some time ago, while Mr. Ram-

MacDonald was Frensier.

Tributes to the value and promise of Dr. Canti's work are paid to-day by hos medical colleagues, including Lord Hordor.

Dr. Canti also took a lending part In inspiring and organising the British Red Cross blood transfusion Service, which now mumbers over two thousand volunteers-British Wire- lesa.
