Anti-British rioting that broke out in and about Cairo, developed a political situation which had in it grave possibilities for Enginnd. Prentier Nessim Pasha refused to resign his post following a mass meeting of the Wald party, Egypt's independence organization. The Wardists, comprising 20 per cent, of the electorate, havo resolved to push a nation-wide boycott of everything British in protest against Britain's refusal to give Egypt a constitution. Sir Miles W. Lampson is the British High Comt- missioner for Egypt,und the Soudan.

Some idea of the immense bulk of the 25-ton China Clipper can be gained from this closeup, showing Pan American Airways' employees grooming her for the trans-Pacific airmail service. The huge platio is scheduled to leave San Francisco Bay early in January for Macao, thus commencing the first flight front California to Chinn. She has alrendy flown twice to Manila.
