has been built Into the Cathedral on a pillar between the Chancel and the Lady Chapel. The stone is one of those presented by the friends of Canterbury Cathedral to all cathedrals, in the British Em- pire as a Jubilee merrento...
In Excellency the Governor, Sir Andrew Caldecott, was present at the service which was conducted by the Rev. II. W. Baines. The Lessons were read by Dr. G. A. G. Herklots and the Bishop.
The service opened with the singing of the bymn "Hall theo Festival Day" the choir proceeding in single file in the sldu nixles and forming up in double column in the nave just before entering, the chancel,
The Dedication
At the conclusion of the hymn, the Bishop, accompanied, by the Cathedral Trustees (Mr. P., S. Cassidy and Mr. A. Brearley), stood in front of the Canterbury Cross
Mr. Cassidy said: Right Reverend Father in God and friends we have received this stone taken from the walls of Christ Church, Canterbury as the earnest of friendship uniting the children of the mother church of China with those of the mother church of Britain. In it is sot n Cross copied from one made perhaps in Kent 1,200 years ago. We now gratefully accept this bond of peace and emblem of salvation.
Mr. Brearley ld: Right Re- verend Father in God we desire you lo dedicate this Cross made by an unknown disciple that all who see it may refolco in the unity of the spirit and glorify the love of God.
The Bishop then dedicated the Cross.
Psalm 24 was sung during whitch the choir took their places in the chinacel.

The sermon was followed by the hynin, Jesus shail reign where'er the sun," Before the Blessing whe_pro- nounced by the Bishop, John's Fund Iwas offered.
The Fund is to go towards the general upkeep of the Cathedral. It was commenced about a month ago and closed on December 15, I was. subscribed to by people either with the name John' or "In Memoriam." A total estimated at $1,000 wix collected.
