THE 1936 GRIFFINS AND SUBS, RUN IN SLOW MORNING GALLOPS

PRELIMINARY PREPARATIONS

With the annual meeting of the 1936 season still many weeks away, most racing owners were content to give their new China griflins and subscription griMns only slow work at their morning exercise on Saturday morning. It is idle to make any comment on them until later in the season,

Some faster times were made by the new Australian pony grifna for 1930. The performances of Able Warrior, Electron and Violet Queen were best on Saturday. Details of the griffins gallopa appear below:

San Francisco.

The horse racing world ant up and took notice recently when promoters of the Bay Meadows Race track on the San Francisco peninsula an- nounced they had a formula assuring them a permanently dry track, regardless of rain or

snow,

The discovery, if it proves' practic- able, will revolutionize racing form and performances, especially on the winter tracks.

No longer would followers of the ponies pin their hopes and dollars on the offspring of Stimulus and other Uni-noted mud-runners when the track gets soft and switch to other strain when the racing strip is hard and fast. No longer would the charts record such descriptions as "muddy, alow, drying out, sloppy, fast.
