She was accepted for service, despite her disability, and transferred to the Women's R.A.F.

She was engaged in repairing planes, was subject to military dis- cipline, and had to march from the barracks to the workshop.

Mrs. Sidaway recalls one oc- easion when the lay in snow for hours repairing the wing of a plane.

On Wednesday, the 25th December, the Public Hall of the General Post Office will be closed, but postage stamps may be obtained at the back entrance from 8 am to 6 pm. The Branch Post Offices will be open from 8 a.m. to a.m.
