This picture illustrates why the Second Division of the Australian Light Horse Brigade is called the crack regiment of the Commonwealth Volunteer Citizen forces. Based on the same system as that used to some extent in Hongkong's Volunteer forces, the Light Horse Brigado com- prises Volunteers aged from 21 to 28 years. Each man is a track rider and is given two thorough- bred horses, free of charge, during his time with the forces. Parades are held twice a week, mee on Wednesdays, in the employer's time, and oner on Satuɣdaps, in the trainer's time. This Light Horseman was the winner of the tent pegging competition\at Melbourne Royal Agricultural Show which has just ended.

MALCOLM CAMPBELL MEETING

Sir Malcolm Campbell gave up motor speed racing to become a candidate for the House of Commons from the Deptford district. He was more successful at speed racing.
