It is doubtful whether either Taikoo or Kowloon Tong will have a very much more enjoy- able mixed doubles league game this season than that in which they participated last night. Although Taikoo won by the fairly pronounced margin of six games to three, at the end of the match there was a differ- ence of only eight aces in the teams' aggregates.

In losing six games Kowloon Tong -conceded but 30 aces, whereas Talkoo fost a total of 22 aces on the three ganos which went against them.

Although the badminton season is only a fortnight old and several clubs are still shuffling about with their teams, testing new players and fresh combinations, there has been sufficient incident and progress to call for a certain amount of observation. One is the encouraging manner in which the programmes

are being carried through per schedule. Apart from Eliot Hall postpon- ing their pre-Christmas matches (and this was always wellknown, the fixtures only appearing in the official lists as a matter of routine), there have been but two. games put off, both in the mixed doubles division.

The chief lesson to be lenrat from this praiseworthy adherence to the fixture lists is that the clubs are keen. And if further proof of this
