BRITISH PRESS TRIBUTES

London. Nov. 28. The Chincao Exhibition evokes a chorus of unbounded praise from all papers, Long descriptions, several of which described as only prelimin- aries, the exhibition being further surveyed with copious illustrations.

Fashion writers are eagerly seek ing new models and rhapsodize over the loveliness of Chinese colours and the subtle difference of tone of Chinese blues, reds and yellows.

The Times writes that it in diff cult to see how for sheer beauty, form, colour and exquisite workman- why this Exhibition can fall to bo the most popular among the series of winter exhibitions held at Bur. lington House.

The Manchester Guardian writes that you may trace Chinese art back. as far as you please into the dim- ness of prehistoric times, and there in still no trace of a primitive style as there is in Europo

The Morning Post paying a tribute to the Chinese Government for the generous loan of so many treasures says, "We Europeans would do well to walk humbly to this exhibition since it reveals a civilisation, which was subtle ail zefined when we were yet barbarians."
