LINCOLNSHIRE REGIMENT CONCLUDE CELEBRATIONS As a fiting conclusion to the events commemorating the 250th anniver- sary of the Lincolnshire Regiment, the Druma of the 1st Battalion beat the Retreat yesterday evening before the Regiment's Colonel and a crowd_ of interested spectatora.

The now silver drums brought from England by

the Colonel, Major- General E. C. Simpson, C., and pro- sented by him to the 1st Battalion, were used, and the performance of tho magnificent an Inaugura tion as such a memorable gift could have. The band marched, and coun- ter-marched on the broad road running through Shamshulpq, and evolved a number of complicated manoeuvres which were as delightful to the elvilian spectators as they ware satisfactory to the military. The on- tire performance lasted half an hour, and when it was over Major-General Simpson addressed a few words of congratulation to the Bandmaster on the smartness of the get-up and the
