HOW LEACH FOOLED THE PRESS
DEMON BOWLER
JOKE
(By "Veritas").
Donald Leuch's little joke on the
Inter- Local Press when, in an
view upon the arrival of the Shinghal Interport team, he gave a vivid description of the demon fast bowling of E.M.P. WHliams, is now well-known history.
But yesterday, during the tillin adjournment at the K.C.C. I heard An amplication of the joke. As it came from a Shanghal player. I am not vouching for its veracity. You can fool some of the Press all the time, ele, etc. ....
However the yarn goes that when Shangbai turned out for their Grst
practice last Thursday it was Panged to prove to our eagle-eyeti ; Pressmen how devestatingly fast was Mr. Williams.

THE NEW L.B.W. RULE
Eagerly Accepted By New Zealand
(By Geoffrey Simpson)
London, Oct. 24. Having predicted that the ex- perimentat 1.b.w. cricket rule would become universal, I ought not to surprised at yesterday's deve- dopoint an invitation to New Zealand-to-make-the-change.-
But the ML.C.t!. certainly do move fast once they reach a decision..
Scarcely hnd Australia been re- quested to come into line' than similar cable from Lord's was on the way to the New Zealand Cricket Council.
And the New Zealanders, with out even resorting to a ballot, gave the new rule a welcome and will put it in force for all the games to be played in their country by E. R. T. Holmes's team.

R. ABBIT ADMIRES INTERPORTERS- AND THE ACCOMMODATION
(By R. Abbit)
What I like about this regular fixture between the Shanghai side and the K.C.C. is the delightful holiday feeling that prevails. It has a spice of good old country cricket though the K.C.C. wicket is very much better than rural ones in England. There is none of the stern earnest- ness of the Interport.
It was very pleasant to visit, the K.C.C. and find a chair and a table ready for me in my old corner under the trees far from the chatter of the crowd and the
