HOME SOCCER PROSPECTS

NO. 32 CHARLTON ATH.

MAY JUSTIFY PROMOTION

After two years in the Southern: Section, Charlton Athletic return to their rightful sphere in the Second Division. The fine type of football displayed throughout last season war ranted their promotion, and I have no doubt that a continuance of the same will enable them to hold their| own in the coming campaign.

Naturally, few changes have been made, for it is only fair that the men who did so well fast year should be given the opportunity of carrying on the good work. The only notable newcomers are Cann,

a stury full-

back from Manchester City, a regular member of the City when they reach- ed the Final in 1934, and Diaper, a strong, bustling half-back from Ful- ham.
