A search was made for the bam- boo stool mentioned by the accused, but it could not be found.
Assisted by a Chinese constable and an Indian constable, Sergeant Parker took the accused to the Yau- mati Police Station.
Halder Khan was taken to the Kowloon Hospital, and from there he was immediately sent to the Gov- ernment Civil Hospital where he died shortly afterwards. The cause of death, according to the doctor, was a blood clot on the head caus- ed by violence to the head.
The accused was originally charg, ed with assault, but in reply to a charge of manslaughter he reserv ed his defence.
