VERDICT OF SUICIDE
ROYLANCE INQUEST
CONCLUDED
After listening to evidence that took nearly six hours to hear in the Inquiry into the death of Inspector G. E. Roylance, the jury, retiring for only five minutes, brought in a verdict of suicide by drinking lysol They were not in the position to express an opinion as to his state of mind.
During yesterday's hearing, evidence was given by Mr. H. E Lanepart, who was severely reprl- manded by the Coronor Mr. Wynne-Jones, who advised him to "give truo evidence and not advertise yourself,"
The jury were Messrs. W. Sharp (Foroman), L J. Castilho and L. G. V. Ribeiro.
The widow of the late Sanitary Inspector Roylance, Mrs. Emily Irene Roylance, entered the wit- nesa box and gave evidence that she and Inspector Roylance had been married since September, 1914. Her husband had been married before, but had no children.
