Wong Kwai, a Chinese constable who was on post duty at the traffic light about 11.20 p.m. on July 11, said he had given the green light to a taxicab No. 186 which was pro- ceeding from west to east along Queen's Rond. Private car No. 2017, driven by the defendant. came from the east and collided with the taxicab at the mouth of Pokfulam Rand. Both cars were turning up Pokfulam Road when the collision occurred. Car No, 2017 had the red light. He pointed out to the defendant at the time that be had the red light against him.

Pun Kam,, driver of the taxicab, said he was given the green light, and before turning into Pokfulam Road put out his right hand and sounded his horn. As he turned. the other car collided with his.

Defendant stated that he came out of Western Street and turned Into Queen's Road and then into Pokfulam Road. He had noticed a bus about sixty yeards ahead of him proceeding along Queen's Road from east to west, but he did not notice the light..
