IP KAM-WAH

It will be recalled that the name of Dr. ip Kam-wah was proposed for the vacancy on the Sinitary Banrd which occurred three weeks ago owing to the expiration of Dr. Li Shu-fan's term of office, bul Dr. Ip's candidature Wha Hol accepted beenuse i was found to be not in order. The reason was that his proposer was not A qualified voter, although a Justice of the Peace.

Supporters of Dr. Ip thereupon drew up a petition to the Governor in Council, requesting that the

[ nomination" be "accepted, and the

matter was considered by Executive Council Jast Thursday morning. It is now learned that the petition was refused, motifica- tion to this effect having been runde to the petitioners yesterday.
